Malakai had barely left Axelle's side since making the return trip back from Halifax, reluctant to leave her in case something happened, in case one of her slowly-healing wounds opened up again or she needed something and couldn't reach. He was her constant companion now, keeping a close eye on her every movement in case she needed him. But as her wounds healed, she was able to move around a little more until thankfully she didn't rely quite so much on Kai. He wasn't much of a nurse. He was a care-taker by rank, usually extending to pups, with the mother's supervision of course. He wasn't trusted to be left alone with them just yet. Axelle wasn't a pup, though. She was his mate, and every time he thought about it, his chest seemed to puff out with pride. This female had chosen him just as much as he had chosen her.
Trotting in his preferred Secui form into the common room, he had wanted to try to find one of his Alphas, either the Angelo Alaki or Angela, Naniko. He wanted to talk to them about one of the ceremonies he had been present at, between two of the pack members. He had watched as they declared themselves to each other, and it was something that floated on his mind. He thought of himself as Axelle's mate now, just as he thought of her as his mate, so perhaps one of those ceremonies was in order. Perhaps not yet, though. He hadn't spoken with Axelle on the idea, thinking that she would scare off, that it was too soon to be making such a commitment, but it was something he was curious about. However, he couldn't see his Alpha's in the common room and so turned, heading back to Axelle's den where he had left her, on the large, comfy mattrass, where he himself spent a few nights lately in favour of Axelle's den to his own.
