Lillith had decided to move out of her family’s den, but she had not yet found a new place to live. But already the red woman was gathering things for herself; herbs, meat, trinkets, clothing; anything that made her feel like she would have an actual home when she found one. All the things she had been finding she kept hidden in a place only she knew; she knew quite well that there were those in Anathema who would not hesitate to steal something that didn’t belong to them, since she herself did so without trepidation.
Today had been a successful foraging trip; she had found several abandoned human homes several miles outside Anathema’s borders, and within one she had found several iron pots and pans as well as some discolored but intact plastic and ceramic containers. She had been so pleased with her find that she treated herself to a snack; a plump marten, whose disemboweled body was slung over her lap as she casually rode back to the pack.
Once within its borders, Skrak dissolved from the trees like a black shadow to land upon her shoulder, "One in the pen." the elder raven spoke in that shrill voice of his, beady eyes looking at the corpse in her possession. Nonchalantly Lillith reached down and plucked a finger-full of flesh from its hide and handed it to her medium, who swallowed the morsel whole with a satisfying click of the beak.
Soon she arrived to the horse pen and sure enough, there was a woman there. It was the multi-colored female she had seen at her Rast ceremony, and who she believed to be the mate of Aeron. And she was injured. Interesting. Lillith dismounted and said nothing to her as she took Korosk to the stall that held his mare and foal. The items she had slung over his back she set down to the side, and she picked up a brush to groom him.
