Something about this made Lillith feel some semblance of the emotion called happiness; how amazing it was that she could affect this complete stranger just by her simple nature; it made her feel very powerful. Therefore, she tried to refrain from grinning when Charm confirmed that she did not agree in the least bit with Lillith’s choice of a sacrifice; she wasn’t the only one. Panda had chided her when they had returned to the den site the evening of the Rast, and her frustration was what had helped Lillith decide it was time to move out. She spoke as if they were talking about nothing more than the weather. How would this simple woman react if Lillith revealed that she craved the taste of wolven blood, that seeing the utter fear in one’s eyes before their life was snuffed out was the only thing that made her feel alive?
