Despite his frozen, prone form there was tension in the males body, the automatic and instinctive raising of his hackles and the tensing of muscles that would aid him in some kind of fight or flight reaction. It was just a shame neither reaction had kicked in and he was firmly stuck in the ambiguous 'fright' stage of what was once a straightforward response. The collision of another body with his own seemed to force a response from his however. No matter how terrified he was, his survival instinct was stronger. Trying to gauge why no blood had been spilt despite the obvious claws and teeth against his skin as they hit the floor was pushed to the back of his mind. The threatening growl that came from his attacker caused an answering snarl from his own lips, despite the teeth pressed to the back of his neck.

Instinct told him that he was in a better position that he'd originally thought- his belly was covered and tucking his head to the side caused his ruff to protect the rest of his more vulnerable neck. Despite his attacker clearly being heavier than him, he'd pinned him to the floor on his stomach, which in turn protected him automatically from having his vital organs ripped out. This fact gave the boy a little confidence, though he also recognised that there was very little he could do, pinned to the floor. He could survive however and that would be enough for now. A quick mind recognised that while his torso was pinned, his legs were blessedly free of weight. With another firm growl, Temeraire attempted to dig his footpaws under the legs of the other luperci and should he succeed, his attempt at shifting the heavier male by tugging his legs to the left would hopefully yield some results.
