Everything happened all at once and he was not ready for it. His hips were going to take a beating for this and he fell down as she pushed her way into an embrace with him. He still lay where he was, but one arm wrapped over her back, and held, her and then she spoke. She spoke and it sounded like it would never end, but he didn't want it to, the sound of someone familiar, the life he once had came coming back, but he was no longer the soft teddy bear he was and the tears did not come so easily. The ferret had jumped from his shoulders watched in silence.

The small thing asked, she huddled close to Shawchert knowing that he would keep her safe, Shaw looked he nodded and kept his eyes on the ferret, not pushing the woman off but not wanting to see her eyes either.
