Asgeir
But your thoughts will soon be wandering,
the way they always do, When you're ridin' sixteen hours
And there's nothin' much to do

Asgeir picked a spot to stare at, leaning against the alphess as she leaned against him, both wolves taking solace from the presence of the other. His ears flickered when she spoke, and to him, X'yrin's voice sounded as weary as he felt. He remained quiet for several more moments, and then shook his head slowly, nuzzling X'y in the process as he did. No.. Too much on my mind. Love had, love lost. The unfairness of life. Why do people have to die, X'yrin? He understood, in a way. If no one died, eventually there would be no room left in the world. But those left behind were so often sad. Despite knowing the order of things, Asgeir hoped X'y might be able to give him some Nomad explanation that did not sound so harsh.

He fell silent once more, but for a heaved sigh letting the Issor have a chance to speak if she wished. He studied a particularly round, smooth, sea green rock about three feet ahead of them to give him something not as painful to think about, and most certainly not thinking about the fact that he was getting older and before he knew it, it would be his time to go. His expression darkened even further, though with his body still resting against hers, the look was hidden. He remembered then why he had stayed on the road for so long. If he made no close ties, no one would have to mourn him. He did not want to cause anyone the strife that Karina's passing had caused him. Perhaps it would be better for Sangi'lak if he left again? No, he could remain for a while more. He would just be sure to leave when he knew time was growing short. He would know, right?

And you don't feel much like ridin',
You just wish the trip was through
