If only fairytales were real and not an illusion

Dalgina had been working on a painting. The canvas stood tall in the room, Tehu perched on a window watching outside. She had been at it for some hours, colors roaming across the blank sheet. It covered her arms and chest as well, the black female now looking like a myriad of colors as the paint clung to her body. Stepping back Dalgina examined what she had made. From her window she could see the woods behind Taru's house. Occasionally she saw the sun rising up over it, painting everything red and gold. Her attempts to capture it on canvas was difficult, the greens and yellows swelling in the trees.

A sudden loud crack rang through the air. Such noises had been going on all morning, but this one was really close. Jumping Dalgina turned, wondering what it was. Walking over to the window she stroked Tehu's head absently and stuck her head outside. Devastation covered the ground. The grand trees that had been outside had fallen, their thick branches coating the ground. In the center of it her brother stood with an ax, looking over the damage he had done. Honrin! What was he doing? Her ears perked forwards curiously, hoping for an explanation.
