If only fairytales were real and not an illusion

Oh my gosh, I am too slow. ;__; +443

The first crash of an old giant caused Levent to flinch and the puppies to whimper. He cooed to them gently in Turkish, scooping up his little girl in his arms when she wasn’t as quick to calm as her fiery little brother. She reached at his snout with a paw, missing a couple of times as her unfocused pinkish-blue eyes tried to adjust, fixing on this thing protruding into her world. At last her pad scraped the leather of his nose, and she babbled something softly, almost a sound of triumph. He grinned and rewarded her with a kiss on her little paw before there was another crash. He looked up to see that Dalgina had moved from her spot by the window, abandoning her painting in favor of investigating all thenoise.

“Bu korkunç gürültü kontrol bize gidelim!” the brown-furred man said, feigning shock and curiosity. He thought about reaching in to grab Aiden too, but he didn’t think it’d be appropriate to have both puppies with him. He tread lightly when around Hotaru, trusting her as a mother more than he trusted himself as a father, despite her blindness—although small acts of rebellion, such as talking to the children in Turkish that they might learn it, were commonplace. After telling one of the birds to watch Aiden, he tugged at the collar of his shirt so that the albino puppy could be tucked there, against his chest and warm and shielded from the sunlight. He held her with an arm as he stepped out into the daylight.

Aysun made little noises at the world, trying to see it all at once, but her father held her closer and finally made his way to the source of the sound. He’d looked from the window to see the trees falling, and thought he caught a glimpse of the lumberjack, but now he had a better look. Knowing that Hotaru would absolutely rip him to shreds if she knew he’d taken her daughter near falling trees, he moved furtively but announced himself with a jovial bark when he saw the white Wolfe-Denahlii son.

The Turk hesitated when he came closer, though, and saw the mess that was his face. He betrayed little feeling, although his bandaged shoulder ached at the sight. He’d heard the story of what had happened with Jace, especially since Dalgina occupied Hotaru’s home now, and he couldn’t imagine what all the children were going through.

“Hello Dalgina, Honrin,” Levent said warmly, giving the dark girl a wink then smiling at the white wolf. Aysun babbled something incoherent, her eyes squinting against the sunlight; Lev shielded her with a paw.
