Saul Chibi is by Requiem!

The building of the Village Hall was coming along nicely, if Saul admitted it to himself. Worry about the walls standing up had been alleviated when he'd intentionally thrown himself at points around the walls to see if they shifted or moved in any way. They done a good job of hammering the posts into the ground and the additional packing of the mud they'd removed to put in the foundations. Of course, there was a bitter sweetness to thinking about that packed earth- it had been Wretch's idea to keep it and that only reminded him that she'd left the day before. She and Gideon had made their excuses and left, heading off to Odin knows where. It had hurt the Stormbringer, to think that his foster daughter and brother didn't want to stick around. It had been a shock to discover Nahyt and Hael's departure as well and he could perhaps assume that the small group of departures coincided with one another. He didn't know, but he thought perhaps they'd left together.

He couldn't let his upset mar this day however. He'd let Lilin know his feelings, he'd even become rather down and depressed the night before when they'd gone. He hadn't cried this time, but the despondent way with which he'd stared at the wall had let his mate know everything she needed. Rising early this morning had been habit and he'd half heartedly washed before patrolling. On his run, he'd tried his hardest to shake off the dark cloud that had been their leaving and he'd managed to return to his home with a ghost of a smile on his face and a chipper attitude. He hadn't been happy that Lilin wanted to help decorate the interior of the cabin. They still had to install the huge double doors and giant table and benches. The stone fireplace that he'd tasked Bran with was almost perfect, the chimney clinging to the side of the wooden hut eagerly. It was a huge fireplace and Saul was glad Bran had been able to work tirelessly on the project for the last three weeks or so.

Making his way over to the building site, and asking Lilin to meet him there in a little while, Saul thought about what they'd have to do to get everything done. The double doors were heavy- he'd found the massive slabs of wood in a warehouse in Amherst and had moulded them to better suit doors. He'd come across what appeared to have been a metal workers warehouse and had rummaged for hours before he'd been able to find four big enough hinges, two giant door rings and a plank of metal that would be used as a locking mechanism on the inside of the door. He'd installed all of these onto the wooden doors a few days ago, making sure they were all screwed in properly and the crude locking mechanism worked. The doors lay outside of the gaping hole they would soon occupy, though moving the huge wooden table had to go first.
