The confirmation that Dalgina brought that the family is no more pushed Temo deeper into his depression. For a moment there was a spark of hope that maybe the family was getting back together. But the news that she brought put out that spark as surely as the biblical flood would put out a campfire. He slumped back into the rags when he realized that she was gone, and thinking that with no more family, she would not be returning. He closed his eyes and would have cried more tears but his body did not have any moisture left to spare.

When he heard her voice once again, his eyes opened and looked at her in surprise at seeing that she had returned. Water? It took a few heartbeats before he made the connection to her statement about having brought water to the liquid that she held in a bowl. He looked down at the bowl and moved his snout closer to take a sniff of the contents but misjudged the distance and his nose dipped into the water.

With a start, Temo pulled his nose out of the water to him it was quickly, but to a healthy individual, it would seem a bit slow of a reaction. With a small snort to clear the water from his nostrils, he goes back to the water and laps up a bit of it before he stops to take a breath. Temo looks up at his daughter, his eyes focusing better, Where, how are everyone? He whispered. He dreaded the possible answers but needed to know how the rest of the family was doing and if they were still around.
