Vasiliy is by Sunny!

The swirling transparent gray curled around his fingers. Vasiliy cupped it around the burning ember at the end of the cigarette and watched as the smoke curled and escaped through his fingers. Twisting it around again in his grip he pulled at it deeply. His pale eyes studied the sky, a deep blue-black color. There were only a few sparse clouds, thicker and more substantial than the tiny smokestack he made with his cigarette. They were hardly enough to cover the many stars, tiny glowing and distant fires. He remembered Zinoviya's stories -- the human's earnest belief that such stars were distant suns like the giant glowing ball of fire shown during the day. Such theories made no sense whatsoever to Vasiliy, and he dismissed them with little thought. He much preferred the tales with flourish -- dead spirits, the reflections of the gods, or anything of the sort. Dry and scientific answers such as the humans provided, with all their measuring tools and ways of taming the earth, were unpleasantly cold to Vasiliy.

The distant sound of slow hooves drew him from his contemplation, and he pulled at the cigarette once more before stubbing it out. The earth he'd burned there was scrubbed out with a finger, and the tiny butt of paper and tobacco was torn apart and scattered to the wind. He did not know terms such as "biodegradable" but his cigarettes happened to be just that. Standing up slowly and with the care of an old man, Vasiliy turned to greet Honrin with a smile. Hello, my friend, he greeted in enthusiastic Russian, looking toward the pale wolf with a prompting sort of smile.
