Kaoru twitched at the call, more wild than he was used to. He recoiled, and Isabella straightened from the mash of pine needles. Her fingers were covered in the evergreen color, and she brushed it off on the rag the slave offered her. She had heard the call, alright, but it made her frown. It was unknown and it was not something she like. Salsola was weary and wary of strangers, and few boded well that came without a recommendation. She herself had come because of her knowing someone in the pack, and the then-King, to boot. Few dared come upon the borders without someone having introduced them, or having suggested they come. So who was here to bother the Thistle Kingdom?

In the packlands, Isabella did not carry a weapon, and Kaoru was not permitted one simply because it was stupid to give a slave a knife. Their things would be undisturbed here, as she had only begun to make the pulp and it was easy enough to backtrack for the mortar and pestle. She would find any who stole from her and punish them soundly, or bribe a higher up to return it. Ducky grazed nearby, happy to be out of the stables and grazing carelessly. But a quick jump and the woman was mounted on the horse. "Get on," she told her slave, who hopped up behind her. She did not want him injuring himself with a run, especially when he was so pretty as he was.

What they found, though, made her frown even more. Kaoru dismounted and walked to the side of his mistress. Isabella was tall, and exuded the air of mystery she wore so well. There was haughty grace, too, as she looked at the pair and their things. Quite a lot of things. "Can I help you, Madames?"
