Sheer panic. Panic. No warrior, sword blooded with his companions had raised this much fear inside of his heart. There was unadulterated panic flowing through his veins. His breathing was hard as he ran, almost ignoring the wind blowing in his face and rain pummeling his flesh in cold pellets. Golden pelt darkened with water and dripping, the man broke through a branches he had not seen in time to part. They cut lightly at his arms, nothing to worry about. There had been worse wounds in the arena, as his light scars everywhere had proved. There was a lion's cut across his chest; he had survived plenty more things worse than branches.
The cold metal of the gold ring in his nose itched in the wind, on top of the water making breathing hard. Out of breath, the man burst into the ruins, rain continuing to pelt him. It ran down his chest in torrents, the ground muddy from the rain and the debris of leaves and sticks everywhere already. He spit back the rainwater, eyes blinking to find the dark woman. It was like looking for a special flower in a field of blossoms. "Domina!" he cried, screaming into the wind, throat aching with the effort. If he was crying, it was hard to tell; the water ran down his face in streams. "Yvette is missing!" he added, turning about to see if anyone was going to come to help the screaming slave. But who would? He was a slave; dispensable.
