_____Even though Inferni hadn't claimed the entirety of the Waste, it may as well have belonged to them. The higher reaches of the area were still well travelled by the clan even outside of the border. Corona had seen Marlowe circling overhead of that area earlier in the day and her interest had been piqued, so simply for a break from things, she ventured in that general direction. She found it to be quite a place and very much like the rest of Inferni; untamed, wild, and almost familiar. Just like their home over the mountain, it had a raw beauty.

_____From the shore to inland where the grasses and the trees began came the caverns. It was one particular area where the caves were bored into the hillside that completely offset her previous thoughts of the place. It had hit her like a fist out of the haze on that day, a smell so familiar that it made her sick with rage instantly. Forget escaping the stress of the day, she suddenly had a score to settle. It was hard to shake the image of her father from her mind, just how hopeful he was for her return, just how much he loved her. And as far as Corona knew, he still did.

_____But Matinee had hurt him in a way that she couldn't forgive. She had trailed one particular smell back to the cavern where it seemed like she had been staying, bristled fur head to tail and a wild fire burning in her piercing blue eyes. It was recent, so recent that it made her feel even more enraged that the gypsy woman had been literally staying in Inferni's backyard. Snarling to herself, she fell into a wait, having a hunch that her blue-eyed step-mother would be back to her little cave. She'd be a surprise, but not necessarily a good one, and in Corona's mind, definitely not a good one.
