Day at the Beach

Ananse was slowly but surely getting back to enjoying the water with his mother's encouragement, shaking out his fur when he felt too weighed down by the water soaking it. He continued to watch his mother closely. It almost seemed like he was making sure the waves didn't take her away. That actually wasn't too far from the truth. He doubted he'd be able to brave it enough to go after her and was definitely too small to really be of much help if it did happen. He whimpered at the thought.

At her explanation for the waters bad taste and it's better purpose he seemed doubtful but would take her word for it. It definitely didn't taste good that was for sure. As far as playing though, he still wasn't too sure about that but was immediately brought back to reality as he watched his mother splash in the water, smiling to himself as he attempted to mimic her. His splashes weren't quite as effective but it kept him entertained nonetheless, actually getting his mind off his fear for a bit. Maybe it wasn't so bad after all? At least the shallow part anyway.

It wasn't long though before his mother sent another huge splash his way and his ears perked in shock before she jumped in way and kept him protected. Of course when she claimed she caught him, a bit of mischief shown in his eyes. He pawed at her, splashing some water at her before laughing and making a run for it. "Nuh uh!" he objected playfully as he ran, trying to taunt her into chasing him and splashing her once she got close. It seemed the previous fear was forgotten and instead replaced with a competition of trying to beat his mom. If he could get that lucky. She was a little harder to beat compared to Loki. But that made it all the more fun.
