The one thing about where they were was that noises could travel quite far. Even with the land as varied as it was Dalgina could hear the cries of birds that could be a few miles away clearly. Dalgina had eaten the mouse pretty quickly, Tehu staying close by to listen to her praise. He was a pretty vain bird, mainly due to Dalgina treating him as the greatest bird in existence. It didn't matter to her that he hadn't grown as large as she'd expected, ending up smaller than Fawkes and Kelia.
The noise that pierced through now was almost eery in the sound. It was perfectly clear, weaving through as if casting a spell on the land. Her steps slowed, and the black female lifted her head, ears straining to listen to it better. Spritely Dalgina crossed the prairie, chasing after the beautiful music. Reaching it she paused, looking at the pale female that played. The instrument appeared strange to her as well. Crouching down Dalgina closed her eyes, letting it swallow her up. Even Tehu was silent, not wanting to interrupt.
