bit by bit torn apart, we never win

Firefly listened quietly to the scene that was beginning to unfold in the house. She couldn't help but smile to herself at the conversation that was taking place between Alexey and Svara. She knew that Alexey was a kindhearted soul but she was equip with enough spitfire of her own to take on the little brat, atleast for a round or two. She wondered if Alexey would let the kid bring her into another one of her childish games she so liked to play, but whatever happened between the two didn't seem that important seeing how Cercelee, the one who the insult was thrown at seemed to ignore the two bickering packmates just like Firefly was.

She moved enough to where Cercelee could get a better view of their newest packmates and family. Though Cercelee and Firefly had never really spoken of their connections as family they still knew it existed and silently the blood flowed still. She wrinkled her nose at the words that Cercelee seemed to coo to the puppies but after a second she just smiled, knowing everything she said was true. If they wanted to become shining little stars they'd have to show all the wonder and determination not to be left behind. She doubted that anyone in the pack would let them be left behind but puppies were born fighting and soon enough they'd all be watching them make their way up the ladder hot on the trails of the rest of the pack.

She hadn't shown any real change when Svara had left and returned with the deerskin that she'd arranged around Firefly and the puppies. She smiled at the quick mouthed girl and nudged her on before flashing a strange look towards Cercelee, hoping the leader wasn't going to make a comment on the strange ways of the almost grown kid. She knew better than to make a big deal of the workings of Svara but she wasn't for certain if the rest of the pack had learned how to live with the child with the rough edges.

The golden bronze woman had opened her maw to speak when the scent of the male entered the room and his voice seemed to shatter the world she'd been melting into. Svara had already let off some strange comment to Haku but that wasn't enough for Firefly. In a flash the Acer was upon her paws, her heckles raised as she disturbed the small ones, the distressed sound of the puppies deaf in her ears as she snatched up the form of her dead daughter and pushed past the pack as the emerald eyed Sadira stood before her mate, the anger in her eyes showing as she dropped the limp form of their brood at his feet before snarling. "Is this what you wanted, does this bring some sort of happiness to your poor excuse for a life!" She bared her fangs at the male as she paced back and forth, she wasn't going to let the male any further than he'd already come and if he tried to push her she'd push back and he'd discover that female's weren't always the weaker sex.
