For Firefly <3

pushitinThe air was chilled, the zephyrs that blew through the lands filled with snowflakes, falling in flurries to cover the ground. The ebony fae that was sitting just inside the borders fluffed her long fur once again, trying to keep the cold away from her body, she was never too bothered by the cold, but when she had been standing in the same spot for what felt like hours she was suddenly aware that it was cold enough to snow, cold enough that she should be losing the feeling in her fingers, she hadn't yet, after all she was a hardy femme and refused to be beaten by such a simple thing as weather. She stifled a yawn with her hands, running a finger down the scar that cut across her right eye and down her muzzle, she yawned again. Soran's jade eyes scanned the landscape before her, her velvet ears swivelling this way and that, the pair of silver hoops in the tip of her left ear glinting in the sunlight as she took in the sounds of the lands, the sounds of the small animals who were foraging for food and the hardier birds who had stayed on during winter twittering in the branches of gnarled trees, and the faint whisper of the wind as it rushed through the lands. It was fairly quiet and still, even though it was swiftly turning into noon, the ebony fae had been standing here since dawn, she wasn't sure why, she had been happily dreaming and then the nightmares had come and she had found herself out here, lost in thoughts of her pups, and Hollow, the bastard who had fathered them.

pushitinBut now the dark lady was happier to take in her surroundings, so this was Dhalia De Mai, the pack that hated coyotes and hybrids, had gone as far as to war with the Inferni. The ebony grandmother did not quite understand why they felt that way, she had not ever fully comprehended the politics of it. But she supposed she understood the hatred of coyotes, she remembered the brutal attack on Aremys by the Inferni, when they had been driven back across the lands, away from their beloved seaside home, she remembered watching wolves die at their hands, the brutality of it all, the way she had had to fight fiercly to protect her young son. Hybrids however, she had mixed feelings on, after all technically her sons and daughter were not pure blooded wolves, and their father was evil... and a hybrid, but she couldn't see that as making every single hybrid bad, after all her son was the light of her life, he had done terrible things, that much was true, but underneath it all his heart was still purer than any other she had ever known. In fact, when she thought back on it properly she was sure that Hollow had been there at the attack on Aremys, perhaps it was not all coyotes and hybrids that were evil, but those who allowed their minds to be poisoned by the evil red male. As far as the ebony fae was concerned it was easier to give everyone a chance, you could not hate someone instantly because of who their parents were, their breed, their colour. The dark lady knew all too well of discrimination of that kind, her father had been set on killing her after seeing that she was dark pelted, he had gone as far as to slay her mother for even bearing her. She couldn't face the idea of instantly cutting a group of wolves, or even coyotes out of her life simply because they were coyotes, it was true that she hated the Inferni wolves who had been at the fight at Aremys, but that was because of what they had done, not their lack of wolven genes.
pushitinSoran waited patiently, wondering if Deuce would happen past and see her sitting upon the grass, her legs crossed as her green eyes continued to rove over the lands, scanning the horizon for any sign of life, she was still hoping to see her pale ex-lover wander over, to see her sat there and come over to talk, Soran missed her.
