You've got nothing to prove, stay afraid

[html]Hope you don't mind Hybrid dropping by. He's in his Secui form, and almost pleasant. Egads!

He had been perusing the borders for most of the afternoon and evening, taking his time to make his way across the barren lands. The only distinguishing features of the borders were rocks, the occasional tree, and skulls. Skulls of wolves mounted on pikes, sticks sharpened on both ends. They were driven into the ground and stood taller than most canines, observing their surroundings with finite authority. But their eyeless sockets could only see so far. But still, they alerted him. Hybrid turned, shifting his weight, pulling himself up a rock. A boulder. Perhaps. He stared across the plain, with the grasses swaying gently in the wind. Distracting.

A storm was coming.

He squinted, then began to descend down the rock. It was not particularly tall. But Hybrid still wished to be careful. As he neared the bottom, a wolf came into view, gaping stupidly. "State your business or leave," Hybrid demanded. "We do not take kindly to strangers gallivanting about our borders," he added, flattening his ears. He pulled back scarred lips to bare his fangs, snaking his head lower to eye the other male. Hybrid was close enough to see the other creature's chest move (up, down, in, out, inhale, exhale, and...) as he breathed. The other creature's golden eyes seemed to be fixated on the skull as a curious expression flickered across the boy's face. Hybrid smirked. He wondered what the boy was thinking. Yes, he wondered what had possessed the child to come to their borders and wait. Hybrid doubted he was here on official business as an envoy from another pack, for they usually made their existence known before someone could attack, and doubted the boy was here to meet a friend. Perhaps the boy was here due to his own insatiable curiosity. Hmm. Here, kitty, kitty, kitty?
