You've got nothing to prove, stay afraid

Just looking for a friend. The wolf's words came soon enough, but Hybrid was not about to allow him pass. Hybrid seethed, but said nothing. He inclined his head in a brief, quick nod; crimson eyes resting on the other male's form as he did so. He pulled back his lips farther. The action could easily be mistaken for a smile; it was not. Hybrid stared down at the wolf from his slightly elevated position on the rock, eyes narrowing. A pause. Silence. Hybrid regarded the wolf, eyes ready to condemn him at a moment's notice. But Hybrid still said nothing. He regarded the boy as he considered his position on the rock, mentally preparing himself in case the boy chose to attack. If Hybrid descended down the rock any further, he would be at a disadvantage, for the boy could easily pin him against one of the rocks. Hybrid did not know if the boy was hostile, but few ventured this close to Inferni's borders unless they sought violence. Hybrid frowned.

"Who," he stated at last. It was not a question; it was a demand. Plain and simple. Hybrid flicked his ears forward, raising his head slightly, watching the boy. The wolf was nothing here. Absolutely nothing. He had killed creatures for reasons more petty than trespassing. He would not be afraid to do it again.
