what have you got to lose

Zana didn't understand just what all the fuss was about. She'd always been let roam the lands and do as she pleased as long as she didn't get into too much trouble. Why this strange lady seemed so fretful about everything about her she would never get, but she was still nice enough to stay and dig through the seabeds with her. She didn't get others often who would help her search for treasures from the deep. Zana could remember her mother but she didn't want to be reminded of her. She'd abandoned Zana after nearly killing her. She paws at the ribbons that tied up her bare tail as she explained. "My mother's the reason for this.." The ribbons were no fashion statement, they were to cover up the hideous mess that use to be her fluffy beautiful tail. She had loved that soft silky tail so much.

She sniffled as she thought about it, still upset at Colibri for getting so close. She watched the woman with confusion in her eyes as she tried to make certain that she wasn't going to be snuggled against again. She hasn't been on and cuddly terms with anyone since she'd lived in Phoenix Valley and she wasn't sure she wanted to start again. Her small bottom lip quivered as she heard Colibri apologizing and trying to explain that she wasn't going to hurt her. Zana shook her head and said softly. "It's ok.." She didn't knw how to explain that she just wasn't use to others being so close. She was use to her own space and she'd grown to like it thatway.

The awkward moment seemed to blow by though after a few minutes as the two just stood there looking at eachother. Finally Colibri seemed to bring up a point of interest that had Zana in two seconds. She pricked her ears forward as she asked. "Yeah? She would love to find out anyway to get rid of the gulls or any other pesky creature that pesters her to no end. She really was tired of feeling harassed all the time.
