nowhere to go

The child squealed, unable to reopen her eyes after they first had closed. Dying would be much easier than to live another moment with the purebred fear living within her. The sound of the water filled her ears, and she could already feel the sensation of water filling her lungs and slowly pressing life out of her. She was certain this was the end. There was no past nor any future that she could exist in. The presence was crushingly real, and escape was impossible. Through the sound of water and death, Oceane’s words managed to get through, but it did not make the situation easier for the little child. She was dying and her darker sibling reacted as if she was being a cry-baby again. The world was a horrible place with horrible people.

The tan child squeaked pathetically at her tougher sibling, unable to create a proper answer for the other girl. She hung on for a few more moments before a word finally managed to find its way through her lips. ”Mommy..”, the girl whimpered pathetically, wishing she could see her mother a last time.
