She snarled as the male began to turn and run. She bunched her muscles and started after him but only got a few yards as the male began to show his more cowardly side at the fact of having another discover his twisted little ways. A howl broke from her throat as she pounded after him, only to remember at the last second the small child who he'd cast aside. She slowed her pace and suddenly came to a stop as she called after the male. "I'll find you, just wait!" The hairs on her back still rose as she turned away from the departing figure as her eyes scanned the area for the puppy.
She slowly moved back to the child not certain if the puppy was going to live or if she would run if possible. She felt a shudder slide down her spine as she closed the gap between the chocolate and cream girl who gave her a ghostly reminder of another. She tried to push the thought from her mind as she stopped a short distance away and asked softly. "Hey, you okay?" It was obvious that she wasn't okay, the sobs racking her body, but what the hell was Firefly suppose to say?
