1 disaster after another, these poor creatures XD

She needed his guidance. Looking down Anu noticed that he had recovered from her weight, already looking up and for the lifeless bird. There was searching on his face, fighting the foliage for the thing they sought to rescue. Anu nodded at his words, moving with slow yet precise movements. The next branch was easy to mount, and with his earth bound voice, Anu scaled the next and next. Blue eyes saw the woven beast, his wings wedged between two finger-thin branches. How such small twig held to the unwielding creature Anu could not guess, but could believe that trees had such powers.

I see it! The woman yelled, wondering if the male could even hear her. She grew determined, but the kite as high and on the edge of a thin branch. She managed to lean out below it, her fingers reaching to move it closer. Instead she had to push it skyward, the tree’s claws holding tightly and unyielding. She clenched her jaw, stubbornness written on her features. With a sharp movement forward the woman freed the kite from its prison, but by doing so she could not grasp it.

It fell, and as she looked down Anu remembered why they say to never look down. Clinging to the branch that kept her aloft the woman closed her eyes, not wanting to see where it landed.
