Honoré had undeniable talent when it came to getting noticed. In this particular case, it had even been unintentional! Now that he was faced with a dark woman’s questioning gaze, he could no longer retreat. It briefly crossed his mind to just kick the door. Damn thing had blown his cover. But he didn’t. No, instead of abusing a lifeless piece of wood (no matter how tempting it was); the alabaster male took advantage of the situation. Costumes or not, he would continue his little game. For this to work, a few changes were needed. First off, roles had to be altered. No longer was he a striving student, but a sophisticated professor!

Granted, he understood next to nothing of the fancy mumbo jumbo she’d been reading. That, however, could easily be rectified. He was a Frenchman, was he not? It was only normal for him to struggle with a second language. If anything, the fact that he knew not one, but two languages made him brilliant. Just as smart, if not smarter, than a well-educated professor. Honoré’s logic was infallible. Generally, as was the case this time, he often ended up believing whatever fantasies he’d concocted. Confidence swept over him, and his posture changed ever so slightly.

As he made his way to the occupied table, his eyes of bronze took the whole room into consideration. He couldn’t greet her from all the way over there, they were in a library! Professors needed to set the right example. The Québécois plopped down nonchalantly at his student’s side (because that’s what she was to him, a student) and leaned in ever so slightly, feigning interest in the book she’d been reading. A nod was provided, as if he understood everything described in the few passages recited. And finally, he spoke. “Need be careful. Need keep voices down, or other people get mad.” he warned, pointing to the (imaginary) people sitting at a nearby table.
