The scent indeed belonged to the de Sadira pup. Immediately, the warrior’s mind went to the white pup that was of blood relation to this boy. Cwmfen had promised to watch out for her brother, and here he was, within the packlands once more. The smell of the pack was still faint upon his scent, and she knew that his return could not have been long ago. Where had he been? She saw his form dart away from view and watched in silence as the movement of the grasses and flowers that betrayed his form indicated that Palindrome moved away from her. The woman paused suddenly. If the boy did not come to her when his name had been called, he would not come now. Palindrome was not like Catalyst, the warrior decided, but more like Avarice. The white orbs followed the path in that brief moment. She knew that with those wounds she could not pursue to the boy, and so she did not try.

The Spear was lifted, it’s song rising with majesty. But she bid the weapon to be gentle, to be hungerless in its flight. As the wild song of the Raven Spear changed, growing calm within her grasp, it flew from her grasp. Her aim was perfect. The blade bit the earth directly before the pup, perhaps even dangerously close. But the warrior was no fool, and she played no games. There had been no risk to that throw. Like a bluff, it was meant to startle, to manipulate the enemy. She wished only to stop the pup in his tracks long enough to reach him, or perhaps he would decide to come to her. Of course, it had never crossed the warrior’s mind that such action may have been inappropriate with a pup. The black fae was simply unfamiliar with such things. The left hand went to her belly. There was much she must learn. But for the moment, she must deal with this sudden appearance of a pup she had long been searching for.

"Palindrome," the quite melody called once more. She strode to where the Spear had bitten the earth, her fluid movements marred only by the slight limp. It was a relief that the boy had not perished. The woad marked female had worried that the pup eater Brennt had devoured him, but even now the song of Brennt had grown still. She wondered if Dawali had succeeded, for surely if he had not the AniWayans would be without leader. "Where have you been," the soft melody inquired as she paused before the Spear. But she did not reach to extract it from the earth just yet. "Catalyst has been looking for you." She did not know how strong the ties of family were within these lands, for, while they had insecure tendencies, every family was different. It was difficult, however, to find a family that was closely knit.... She hoped that her own would be able to coexist with the world.
