Eli pointed ears twitched at the sound of footsteps, glancing up to spot a coyote woman moving towards him. He smiled slightly, flipping his knife closed and appropriately pocketing it before she came to a stop a few feet before him. Acidic eyes met the scarred female’s body, scanning her briefly before meeting her eye calmly. She was older, her age intimidating because to Eli, that made her wise — an important figure amongst a pack. Licking his dark lips contemplatively, he respectfully removed his hat and clutched it in his hands.

"Yes, ma’am… I am. I’m looking for Gabriel… de le Poer?" He glanced around as if the dog himself was going to appear at the mention of his name. "I think he lives ‘round here." The southern drawl of his voice was reduced in his slight attempt to remain intellectual in the eyes of a stranger, a judge. He smiled crookedly again.
