Takes place right after this thread in Ethereal Eclipse. 300+

Hot tears streamed down her face as she sprinted away from her homelands. A storm thundered overhead, rain beating down on her form, soaking her. Gods, why was this all happening? First her daughter had been hurt by something her once best friend had left laying around the house. Then she had been forced to make that friend leave the pack and take up the reins of leadership in her place. And now she had found out that her mate had known about Naniko's drug problem and hadn't told her. He had kept it from her, like he couldn't trust her. Like keeping Naniko's secret was more important than her, than them. It could have cost their daughter her life! All her old insecurities of not being enough for him, of him always wanting the pale woman more than her had come flooding back and it had been too much. She couldn't handle all of this.

Savina ran until her legs ached and her body shivered, slumping down against one of the many trees in the area. At least the rain wasn't falling as hard inside the thick forest of the Ethereal Eclipse. Quietly she sobbed, covering her muzzle with one of her front paws. Her life was falling apart and she felt there was nothing she could do to pull the pieces back together. She knew that she shouldn't have gotten so upset with Kansas, it was clear how guilty he felt about it all, but in that moment it hadn't mattered. Her insecurities had taken over and she had lost control. Eventually she fell into a fitful sleep, haunted by nightmares of Naniko stealing her mate away from her while she was powerless to stop it.

When she finally awoke again she couldn't say how long it had been. The world was still dark and dreary, rain still pattering against the roof of leaves and branches. The world certainly matched her mood. Listlessly she rose to her feet and started walking through the trees with no real purpose, her emerald eyes hollow. Mud caked her chest and abdomen, but for once she didn't care. When she was losing everything that meant something to her, what did mud matter? Nothing mattered.
