Another day filled with rain pouring from the skies. The woman wondered if the sun would ever shine again. Sometimes it felt like it rained so much that the mansion would be swept away in a flood, but so far no such thing had happened. Slender, dark form lay in the bed of the upstairs room, her emerald eyes looking dully out the window. She held a strand of her wavy hair in her hand, fingers combing through it and carefully taking out the tangles. Things had calmed down and she was finally beginning to feel content again. Cambria seemed to have made a full recovery now, thanks to the efforts of her brother and sister to cheer her. Though the fear of her ever coming across that vile powder again haunted the back of her mind.
Despite what her daughter doing better had done for her mood, she had yet to really sit down and patch things back up with Kansas. It needed to happen soon, no doubt the pups would start wondering why they hadn't seen their parents together. That wasn't the only reason. Despite how much the fact he had kept that information from her hurt, she knew that he had never meant it to hurt her or their daughter. There wasn't a malicious bone in Kansas' body. And she also knew that he loved her fully and completely, that her fears about Naniko and him were unfounded. She was willing to move past it all, she just hoped that he would give himself that chance as well.
Gaze turned from the window to search around the room. It was empty right now, save for her. The pups must be off playing somewhere. That was good, better that they play. Cambria had sulked around in the room so long that whenever she was out of it the mother took it as a good sign. A soft sigh was released from her lungs as she closed her eyes. Her mind reached out for his, as if she could somehow call him to her. A foolish idea, but one she tried nonetheless.
