Halo had started to leave the clothes behind. Although she had enjoyed wearing them, Kaena did not seem to wear any clothes in her optime. Therefore, neither would her grandchild. It was a foolish reason, but Halo’s obsession with Kaena was not entirely natural. However, the girl had not ceased to wear her beloved ornaments. The girl was tracing her own path from the day before, hoping to find one of her favourite things. It was a rodent skull which she carefully had worked with in order to put it into her hair and keep some of the dark locks out of her face. She loved it, but had apparently lost it at one point yesterday. She had been lazy and not realized it was missing before this morning. Ruby eyes mercilessly scanned the path in front of her, looking for that little bleached skull.

The days here were boring and calm and the pursuit of finding that insignificant thing of hers would probably prove to be the most exciting peak of the day. What a waste. When she came as far as to the crashing falls in the ravine, her eyes found one of the few members that the girl had not yet met. Halo hesitated for only a moment before she decided to approach. He seemed wet, and was lying there like a peaceful piece of meat or something. She wondered if he had fallen into the water and barely escaped from drowning. Her guess was far from the truth. ”You look like something the crows would have enjoyed, had there been any about.” Perhaps not truly, but that was what had been Halo’s first thought when she saw his outstretched body.
