It was still rather early in the morning, earlier than Ehno usually preferred, but the male had spent the entire night roaming the eastern plains near the pack lands and had simply chosen to stay up to watch the sun rise. The night had been filled with nothing more than mindless exploration, but it was exactly what he needed. His wandering had calmed himself considerably, the perfect remedy for his wildly racing thoughts. This, combined with his unusual lack of sleep, left him feeling comfortably numb as he watched the sun crawl upwards in the eastern sky. He had finally dragged himself back to Crimson Dreams lands, but he had still refused to go anywhere near the mansion. He would hate to disturb that calmness of mind just yet. So the male had traveled along the southern areas of the pack lands, deciding to spend some time at the shore as he had intended to days before.
It was quiet here on the Dreamers’ sandy beach, the most peaceful area of the pack lands in the Marino’s opinion. It was the perfect place to idly spend the first few hours of the morning. Ehno sat a few paces from the shore, amber eyes watching the waves softly lap against the shore’s sands. He had shifted to his lupus form for its comfort and familiarity. By now, Ehno was equally comfortable to be in his bipedal form, but he would always feel more relaxed in his natural form. All those months on the road in his optime form could never beat out the love of his four-legged form taught to him by his birth pack. The Lieutenant silently pushed some of the soft sand around with one paw, contemplating what he would do next. He knew eventually he would have to face the conversations he had been thus far avoiding. But for now, he was content to sit by the ocean and bide his time. If he could enjoy even just a few more minutes of this numb peace, he would be happy. There would be plenty of things to busy himself with later in the day.
