Ares stiffened, his face frozen and expressionless. The words "well, maybe you should have" floated in his mind, but he didn't speak them. Just because she was figuratively kicking him where it hurt didn't mean he had to sink to that level. He didn't trust his voice, anyway. Would he yell? Would he show any emotion at all? Was he going to.. cry? His pain and anger was white-hot and scalding, causing his fingertips to tingle. He stood up and roughly pushed past her, leaving the room. |
