@$%&He'd equilibrated with the rain and welcomed it back. It was a wonder they couldn't all sprout fins and gills as quickly as his eyes became accustomed to the low, filtered light and his body to the reprieve from the typical summer heat. Still, though, even as he'd cursed the blinding sun, he'd found opportunity in its reappearance. Their wolf "friend" did not linger near the northern extent of their territory as much, but closer to the south--closer to Dahlia and Phoenix Valley. Consequentially, the Caelum had refocused his efforts. He still passed by Drifter Bay at least once a night, but found himself further south more frequently.

@$%&Unfortunately, without the cover of rain to wash away his scent, Bastardo's visits had decreased in regularity. The fiery-eyed hybrid knew better than to think their tormentor was gone for good; nay, he was just waiting for the right moment. Lightening flashed and carved fleeting, jagged scars across the foreboding clouds, and Anselm found himself moving instinctually toward the borders. Two black-tipped ears flicked forward as his cousin's cry cut above the crackle and booms of the sky. He knew what it meant immediately: Judge, Jury, and Executioner, Gabriel had promised the brazen wolf's death all at once. Confidence had made the wolf sloppy, and one slip-up was all the clan needed to stomp him into the dirt for good.

@$%&A war-cry erupted from the tattooed male's throat as he advanced swiftly; he found himself roughly equidistant from Gabriel and the cry of another that had arisen beyond the borders. They formed a perfect triangle, one that the intruder would be hard-pressed to slip through. The seccui moved with the practised grace that came from knowing a territory inside and out; he didn't stick to the beaten trails, but rather he diverged into the forest, dodging under some fallen boughs and leaping over others. Anselm quickly ascended a small pile of boulders, testing the air and surveying his surroundings.
