Trees endured the stab of icy cold rain like they'd done for centuries, but Bramble had little dealings with Northern weather, much less for centuries. Therefore, she sat hunched beneath a broad leafed tree and avoided only about sixty percent of the precipitation's onslaught. The other forty percent soaked her white shirt. That's when she realized why, back home, Mom and Dad never allowed her to watch the wet white t-shirt contests held during some of the clan's craziest parties.Bram was embarrassed, shivering, and feeling stupid for getting caught in the blustery rain shower. She crossed arms tightly over the translucent, clingy shirt and hung her head between both knees. The girl was at least thankful to have a leather skirt to rest her head on. Also, it kept the legs dry and happy and most importantly unexposed, unlike other pairs of bodily attachments. She heaved a sigh and closed the eyes to shut out their damp dismal view. |
