R sloooow. Obsessed with cartography-ing 'Souls. XD

The hybrid woman breathed in deeply, exhaling it in a raw and ragged sigh. She was seeking some solitude from the world, some time spent alone would do her damn good. Her brain stewed with angry, rotten thoughts over her near-fight with Gabriel, her precarious position in the world, her age—anything the black cloud in her skull could attach itself to, it did, and these thoughts flooded the hybrid woman's psyche as she stalked further away from coyote territory, her long legs carrying her rather quickly over the soil.

It had ceased to rain, and Kaena was treated to a rather pleasant sunset, only the fluffiest and lightest clouds still hanging over the horizon. The hybrid woman was quite glad that they had dumped their fill of water over the past week; it would have been simply insufferable if she had to prowl around out here and let her thoughts stew and get soaked by the rain. With the onset of autumn, the days were growing far shorter, and by the time the hybrid reached the mountain it was already almost dark, just the lightest hints of periwinkle still lingering on the very edge of the world.

The air was crisp, and Kaena was feeling rather vicious, though not particularly hungry, and upon finding a relatively fresh scent trail the hybrid began stalking it, slowly identifying the creature as a badger. Such a find was rather good for her mood, since she was certain it would put up a fight. Already prickling with eagerness, the hybrid woman slowed her walk and crept along the ground, seeking after the clawed creature. It did not take long before she found him, shuffling along. Her shift began quietly and painlessly, already halfway to her Secui form before the the badger came into sight.

Almost immediately as Kaena sighted the creature, it detected her presence, whirling on its feet with a speed unthinkable for its body, fearlessly charging the grayscale coyote. The hybrid was no fool; she knew that an exceptionally fierce creature such as this could certainly fend off a canine in some circumstances, but it was this one's unlucky day that it had run into Kaena. She was capable of killing her own kind, what thread did this pose? The hybrid circled around the creature each time it charged her, moving with lightning quickness out of the badger's claws and teeth.

It was not long before the creature tired of this method, with the coyote simply removing herself from the way of his attacks, and he tried something new, altering his own course to where she dodged, his claws swiping at her foreleg. The return blow was a solid smack of halfling teeth against his skull, her wider jaw gripping around most of his head and a powerful jerk backwards of her head, lifting the creature from the earth and shaking it violently, her powerful jaws clenching shut tightly with a crunch. There was a thud as she dropped him, blood and silvery brain fluids leaking from the shattered, smashed-in remants of his skull. Breathing heavily, the hybrid woman reclined onto her haunches with an inappropriately wide grin on her scarred face, blood dripping from the slash across her foreleg—just another to add to the tally.
