Gotham! Set at Rabbit Lake. I was thinking if you wanted to have them talk about shifting/have him shift for the first time we could do that Smile Up to you! 300+

Rain pattered on the ground around and the leaves above. Usually the woman would have gotten sick of all this constant rain, but the weather was matching her mood quite well recently. The Commander of Crimson Dreams was sitting with her back against a tree by the side of the lake. The colorful canopy overhead did a good job of shielding her from most of the precipitation but stray drops clung to her fur and raven locks. One hand lay in her lap as the other lightly held the pink shell that hung from around her neck, thumb brushing over the rippled surface. She'd still been doing her best to avoid others for the most part, which was probably one of the reasons she was out here in the rain. The pack celebration, while pleasant, had taken a lot out of her and worries still wracked her brain and heart. Ghita would be due soon. So far the pregnancy seemed to be progressing fine, but until the pups were here and fine she would worry about things turning out as they had the last time. There was also the matter of her brother. He still hadn't returned from Phoenix Valley and she wondered if he ever would. Out there somewhere she had nieces and nephews and she wondered if she would ever know them.

Emeralds watched the ever changing surface of the lake, the drops transforming it from calm and serene and turbulent and chaotic. It was very much like what had happened to her life in the past few months. She wished she could go back. She wanted to go back to when her children had first been born, the happiest day of her life. They were growing so fast, already half a year old. How had the time flown by like that? The mother felt like there was so much she had missed. It almost made her wish she could go back and make it so she hadn't been a leader. Then she would have been able to devote more of her time to her children. Did they feel that she hadn't been around enough? Gods, she hoped not. She hoped they knew that she loved them with all she had. That they were the reason that kept her going. If it weren't for them, she might not still be here.

Savina sighed deeply as the ache in her chest throbbed. A tear rolled down her cheek. One of the worst things about this was it was a battle she had to fight alone. She didn't want everyone to know. She didn't want to burden anyone else with her problems. She didn't know if she were strong enough to keep it up though. How much longer could she possibly last before there was nothing left?
