the twentieth century

The little girl was willing to give up if it meant she would feel better but she was not sure it were possible. Her young mind could not comprehend past the fact she was an orphan, that her family was gone, and she was in the care of strangers she could not open up to. A resentment was growing inside her and she felt a rebellion inside her if she didn't get what she wanted. None of these emotions she could explain, but she knew it would not end until something was gone and if she could not cross that border, it would never end.

Emma caught the smells before they approached and her paws slowly moved so she could peer outward and see two wolves in her direction that she did not recognize. Her dark blue eyes focused on them for a moment, noticing a younger wolf and the older and she immediately assumed their relationship. It might have been different if her world was not in such turmoil but she felt a wild streak of jealousy hit her and she shuffled her weight into a sitting position. Her head hung low and her shoulders angled upward to express her defeat because she had no idea where to hide it.

Her golden speckled eyes looked up and she focused on the girl, temporarily disregarding the question. She didn't want to talk, she didn't want to face her problems anymore, but instead she just watched for a hint on their relationship just so she knew what it was like. She wanted them to be fixed, now, and her family in her loving embrace.
