oocness

It had finally happened for her, she had privately known for some time and her and Slay had celebrated between just the two of them. Still they hadn’t publically announced it to the pack, days were too dark in Dahlia for the Rosea to expect the pack to rejoice in her own good fortune. Part of her was weary of bringing new life into the world, or at least into Dahlia. Cwmfen had up and left, taking Chastity and Honor with her. There had been no explanation, no note, nothing. The raven warrior who had pledged herself to Dahlia and to Cercelee was gone, and it stung. Never had Cercelee held it against someone when they choose to come and go, but with Cwmfen it felt a betrayal. Had there been a reason… but Cercelee could think of none. If Cwmfen has stayed then Haku would perhaps be by this time gone, but he was still Lillium and danger still lurked on Dahlia de Mai’s borders. Cercelee hadn’t told anyone of Haku’s assault on her position, she had planned to speak privately to Cwmfen but by the time Cercelee went looking the women was gone.

And so it was, taking on a plumpness that looked unnatural on her slim body Cercelee brooded at home, over what to do. Many in the pack were loyal to Haku, as loyal to him as they were to her. Ask have of them, Kol, Mew and the others to choose sides and they would surely be torn. Slay of course was her ally through and through but he was not a fighter. For his sake, she told him nothing of what Haku had said, least he go looking for trouble from the unpredictable male. Haku would not leave willingly, that was sure, and Cercelee played with the idea of enlisting the help of another pack. Savina? Ember? Jefferson? She had connections to almost every pack, but to ask them for their time and effort in overthrowing her own Lillium, it was shaky ground. The only one who would take pleasure in such an act was Gaberiel and he certainly owed the Rosea of Dahlia de Mai nothing.

And while growing more round and debating on the right course of action, time slipped from her. Already the air was freezing and the rain wished to turn to snow. Fall had slipped by and winter had strangled the lands, prey was scarce even though Slay kept their home well stocked, better than he ever had before. Which was what he was out doing when Cercelee woke to the voice she had dreaded would come to her door. Normally, if Slay were not home, she was not either, but the pregnancy was sucking the energy from her and she had requested to stay home and sleep. Now she forced herself up and out of the bedroom, into the main church room. There was no point in hiding, he would just follow her if she had slipped from the back room. And she was, after all, still Rosea.

"Go away Haku." Her voice was stern and face strong and stubborn. Cercelee, blossoming mother that she was, stood in the doorway between the personal living quarters and the church hall, tall and erect, her lips uncurling slightly at the sight of the intruder into her home.
