Cercelee nervously watched the male as he relented, content in her submission. Although she gave nothing away, she did not eye the door, did not move an inch, he had anticipated her next move. Of course she was going to run, she was not an idiot. It was when the dark lady appeared Cercelee’s gut flipped over and a new wave of nausea overtook her, the anxiety she felt then rocked her to her very core. Navy eyes met those of Lillith, the crazed woman who had brought Haku back to Dahlia and perhaps saved his life, or so that is how they had told the story. Cercelee knew then that she couldn’t tell Slay a word… she could but she wouldn’t, and perhaps Haku knew that.

Her mind went over the possible scenarios, even if she told Slay and they made a break for it, Lillith would be upon then but she would not be so stupid as to not call for Haku. So even if Cercelee could get away, Slay would have to keep Lillith busy and when Haku came… she wouldn’t see Slay again. No, it was a lost cause, and Cercelee knew then that she had inherited her father’s leading trait, that of a coward. Had she only the strength when Haku first came to deny him anything… the what if’s and the could have beens haunted her as she stared up at the dark lady, but as she stared at her and dreaded for the life of her mate and unborn children she knew that whatever death came upon the Rosea, or whatever rank Haku had assigned to her now, she deserved it. She could have done better. She could have prevented this.
