Kaena was new to this, she supposed, and she swallowed a mouthful of fish and hesitated going further. When she said she was going to go for a while, Vieira nodded and offered a quiet yes ma'am and waited for her to leave. When Kaena was gone, Vieira turned back into her meal and ate with haste, faster than she would have with Kaena around. She was hungry and even with the fish on her stomach, she felt she could eat more. Her travels were exhausting and had taken quite a bit out of her but she would not ask for more and now, she would get used to the cave and where she would be sleeping. |
