blackbird singing in the dead of night

It was good to see the other smile. Smiles always suited people better than frowns or neutral expressions. The de le Poer almost had to keep herself from laughing as she once again thought of where she was living. She was so horrendously out of place. Going from The Haight to Inferni was probably one of the most drastic scenery changes she could have made. It wasn't bothering her yet though, and she hoped it would stay that way. She didn't want to start regretting her decision. "See? That's much better. No need for formalities." Such terms that Vieira was used to using only made Rikka uncomfortable for she was not at all a formal person. It wasn't to say she didn't have manners, she just much preferred friendly, relaxed conversation.

"It's nice to meet you too! I'm pretty new too, at least newly returned." For all intents and purposes though, she was new. She'd been a member of Inferni before, but not in this incarnation of it. These lands were foreign to her even if the name and some of the faces were not. In the back of her mind the lack of eye contact was registered, but she didn't really think about it too much, passing it off as shyness. Head cocked to side as the name Lykoi came out of her mouth. "Lykoi? We're related then?" Rikka had never heard of a Vieira Lykoi, but that certainly didn't mean much considering she'd been away. Though the really confusing thing was the last thing she said. "'Belong to'? What do you mean 'belong to'?" she said, and eyebrow cocking. Things belonged to people, other people didn't belong to people.
