@&#&$In some ways, stagnation was more frightening than anything else. It seemed as if Rikka felt much the same--and yet, the way in which she sought to resolve the matter was completely different from his. In all likelihood the girl was simply far more extroverted and social than he... where she derived pleasure and excitement from new groups and their unique lifestyles, he looked to the physical world and his own self. He supposed if his method ever grew tiresome he'd have to keep hers in mind--he couldn't find anything inherently wrong with it, but it would never quite fit or satisfy him in the long run. Anselm found such things intriguing but only from a distance.
@&#&$And why should he look much further than their own border? He already had everything he needed here. He had his family, a comfortably furnished den, good hunting grounds; he had good company--he had Alacrity. He had his projects and a good degree of personal freedom, too. Even though many of the packs he'd cited had been non-judgemental in the past, he'd mostly encountered them on neutral ground. He always found approaching others on claimed territory to be trickier business; submitting was all part of the game, but he preferred to avoid situations where such a thing was even necessary.

@&#&$All too often, Infernians loitering near defined borders were automatically pegged as troublemakers; they had to take a few extra steps to make themselves appear non-threatening... though he supposed Rikka had enough sense to respectfully mind their boundaries and stay out of trouble. She did not strike him as childish or naive. She was just... optimistic, and for everything, such a viewpoint was refreshing. It was a nice change of pace from Samael or Hybrid's sadistic, psychotic nonsense at the very least. He offered a light, merry smile as they continued to joke lightly into the evening--Anselm was sure he'd found another good friend.
