Sylvie offered Caillen's injection of his mother into the conversation a bout of silly faces, both of amusement and of disagreement. Classic lilac marked face skewed into a multitude of funny and sour expressions, the slowly sharpening heart-like marking on her forehead folding with her furrowed brows. As Alaine answered, Sylvie turned her full attention to the elder female, folded ears erect in reminiscence of a wolf's, tuned into her words. Sylvie frowned at her answer, and shot Caillen a slightly disconcerted look, one ear falling while the other remained erect, eyes sliding sideways to watch her male companion.

Her act was met with a class-clown curled grin, and lanky limbs flailing about as the young boy retreated to Sylvie's side, before they all went out the door and down the stairs to the meadows surrounding. The lilac collie kept alert, ears pinned naturally to the sides of downy skull, flopping slightly with her movements. Occasionally, amethyst gems would slip to the slate and brown hybrid she called a companion, noting his tripping and slipping over things Sylvie easily cleared. The silly boy almost seemed to refuse to look where he was going, in favor of staring at the sunny cyan skies above them. A gentle, suggestive whisper left small, soft mouth as the boy nearly fell once again.

"Caillen... Vous devriez regarder où vous allez..."

Sometimes, the young female could not help herself. Rather like her guardian, the child pointedly acted like a young mother, fawning over injuries and moral issues concerning those around her rather than herself. It wasn't that she was nosy- she just felt that she knew best. Morals, strategies, personality things, dating... the strange wiseness to the young female was refreshing, and yet, bothersome. Sure, she acted like a puppy, but often the more childish tendencies were something she didn't partake in. "Look before you leap," was one such thing she held in high regard- and Caillen certainly seemed to be ignoring that old adage. A moment later, the trio paused, and Madame Alaine addressed the two young ones with a question. Lessons were beginning before they even got there, it seemed.

Sylvie absorbed the question with a quiet look, eyes far away as the answers surfaced within her sharp mind. Almost as if on cue, Caillen looked toward the little border collie, confused faces dancing over his visage. As per usual, it seemed Sylvie was the only one who could answer questions on the fly. Giggling at his clown-like features, the 4 month old offered Caillen a sly smile before posing an answer to Alaine.

"You must first scent the nearby area, to check for other predators, then check the winds and adjust your position to be downwind, and finally you scent once more to locate your prey... I think."

Exactly whether or not she had the order correct, or if she had skipped something, the female was unsure, but generally, whenever she stalked a bug, she would do those following things before chasing it down. It wouldn't do to have a random other pounce in on her prey before she could, let alone alert said prey to her presence. And so, lightly feathered full tail wagged in anticipation of being correct... or corrected.

Speak. Think. Walk.
