Vieira simply nodded her head to the statement but did not feel the need to speak verbally. If she could help it, she avoiding speaking all together. It was the same with her other owners and Kaena was no different. She was confusing to the girl and she didn't know what to expect from minute to minute. It would take time to adjust to, if she could actually do it, but she did not feel optimism or pessimism, instead a bit of indifference. There was nothing she could change in the long run, she learned that rather quickly with Astaroth that there was no easy way out of things.

Kaena announced she would get a knife and, for some reason, she was surprised. Her eyes lifted and she watched the woman disappear into the cave, her hand gripping another fish but she hesitated gutting it and waited. She leaned back against her heels and waited, watching the fish and the fire. As Kaena appeared, Vieira glanced up but only to be aware of the knife that would be coming her way. Her eyes flicked between the two but her hand reached up and she carefully took it from her hands. Astaroth had supervised her when using any sort of weapon, for safety reasons, and she expected the other to do the same.

The slave knew how to use the knife and she began to cut the fish a little easier than using her claws. She did the same with the last one. In addition, she cut the heads off each fish and set everything in the pan. The bodies lined up and the heads in the extra space. She lifted herself up slightly to grab the towel and wrap around the handle of the pan and set it over the fire and remained quiet while she let the fish sizzle.
