Kaena went on and her fingers began interlock awkwardly and patiently. She would and could wait until Kaena was done, if that were the case, and would not complain. However, she felt the older woman's eye on her and her ears angled back and the voice surprised her. Her gaze flickered upward to see if she was serious and when nothing else was mentioned, Vieira reached into the pan and grabbed the smallest fish. It was still a decent size. They were cooled down enough for her to grab without being burned and she brought it to her lips, sniffing it and then taking a bite. The taste was average, she noticed, but she knew she could not have done much about it without seasoning. It was good, at least, and Kaena enjoyed it. That was enough to put a smile on her face because she had done something right. She could avoid a punishment, another attack on her features or another touch on her body she did not want.

Both hands gripped the fish and she took another bite, quiet as she ate away.
