ooc: probably one of the last threads for xer before puppies are born~ anyone is welcome~
It would be any day now. Xeris could almost feel her body preparing for the birth. She had taken to resting in the cabin most of the time, but this morning she had decided to take a short walk to get a bit of exercise. The white wolfess had taken to her optime form now; she had learned that too much shifting would endanger the puppies and her optime form gave her more dexterity, so that was how she had remained for a while.
Her thoughts were interrupted as a stream came into view before her. A smile came to her face--this was the same place where she had met Ty and Rendall. As she had many times recently, Xeris wondered how Rendall was doing. She had to keep telling herself that someday her young friend would return, as cheerful and energetic as always. Xeris wanted all of her friends to see the pups when they were born. After all, they were more than friends, they were family.
The white wolfess approached the stream and knelt down with cupped hands to take a drink of the cool water. Soon she'd have to stay inside the cabin to take care of the pups. She had gathered blankets and the like that had been left in the cabin, to keep them warm in the upcoming winter. Damascus had taken care of the fireplace to keep it stoked and warm. And of course, she would have Pendzez to be there with her. But for now, she would concentrate on the beauty of the nature around her, and wait to see what happened next.
