Mew was indifferent to a lot of things lately, and when her brother called out to her she did not know how to react. His behavior last she had seen him had put her off, as if something about him was not the same, that he had changed without her knowing, and in a negative direction. Perhaps it was because of Firefly, for she still believed him to be just a normal being with emotions like anyone else. Perhaps the breakup with his cousin had torn his heart to shreds - what could she know? She had never thought to ask, and he had never told her. Still, she knew her duties, and she dragged her weary body towards the regular meeting-place of the pack. For a moment she thought it strange that it was Haku that called, and not Cercelee, but remembered that Cer was heavy with children. It was a time to avoid too much strain, certainly, and she gave it no more thought.

The two that followed her were old enough to run around by themselves now, and sometimes they did, but they kept mostly to her side. Dexter was most keen on adventure of the two, but it seemed to Mew that Vesle was just smitten with her mother, and refused to leave her side. Every night the little grey furball would complain and complain until she was allowed her favourite sleeping place: on her side along her mother's tummy. While the other pups also still sought their mother's presence and sometimes rested with her, they often also slept on their own, though inside the house. Keeleigh was the one who spent the most time away from the single parent. It was the process of leaving their mother, probably, and Mew was not sure whether it broke her heart or not. The trio's process through vegetation and across old human streets was slow as the two pups poked their noses here and there, and once she finally came to the meeting-place the discussion was just about to start. Bending her neck she quickly told the children what would happen and that they should stay silent and be good, so that Haku would not be angry at them. After all his take on her little family was somewhat... unexpected. Making their way closer to the clearing she picked up her brother's words before she reached them all, and the three snuck in while Addison was talking, nodding to the members she knew and smiling at the ones she did not yet know the names of. They could probably mingle later, and she could pick up their names then. Not knowing anything about what he was speaking of, Mew simply sat and said nothing. The family did not travel outside Dahlia de Mai, and so she had not been close enough to the borders in a long time to notice any of these dangerous devices. Her eyes searched for Cercelee but, as she had expected, she was not there. Perhaps she had stepped down in order to take care of her family or something similar to this. It wouldn't be unlikely, Mew thought, content, and sat back on her hind legs, children in front, waiting for the meeting to pass and more interesting information to reach her.
