ooh, something to look forward to tonight!

The Lt. General was unsure where the war began or what had been the catalyst. But it was obvious, as from what the leader of Inferni had told her, that wolves and coyotes just did not get along. Enemies, for some unknown (to Anu) reason. Reasons that had not been explained to her, and reasons Anu would likely never understand. It was odd to her that two species so similar could not live in peace. Her own son had blood of a coyote, and yet Haven was immune to the hatred that so thickly ran between the two kinds? Anu didn’t understand, and so had found it hard to recognize it. But in each member of the coyote clan she saw that distain, and Anu was beginning to find it hard to ignore it any longer. She wondered if all the hybrids that ever lived had been the product of the same vile hate and anger, or if there could be love between them. The Dreamer wondered if this coy-woman would always hate her simply because she was a wolf, because her parents had been of a pure wolf pack and had been loving mates, producing a litter that held no blood of a coyote. Why was she unwelcome simply because she was of one kind? Did her blue eyed bore holes into those she looked at, did she attack those that passed by too close, and did she make coyote pups cry? She wished to know what had begun the war of hate, and maybe if she had only know, that there were wolves beyond her door that sought to destroy the clan she would understand. But she felt as if their history was only theirs and if she was too ask for it she would be searching for something that no one would want to reflect upon. It left the tawny female confused and conflicted.

She was so very far from home, and this was place beyond the cities reaches and Anu hardly went that far. Dahlia was about as far as she had ever wished to go in the past, and now that those borders were out of bounds Anu had roamed more south then she was used to. She doubted she would go back to the flower pack, Colibri having been the reason that she ever visited. Now that Haku had her scent on his twisted brain she was sure the moment she stepped a toe within his kingdom he would have her throat. It was a sickening feeling, since it had once been a place where Anu had known many friends. There was slowly disappearing, dwindling one by one. Luckily she had been able to save her lover from his clutches, though not unscathed. Her tail had been severed at the center, and the once beautiful sweeping appendage was a fluffy stump. Her life was worth her tail, and Anu was not ungrateful that they both survived, but it only showed that she was far from whole.

Kaena spoke, and Anu tried to picture the sort of place she described. She thought of the beach that lined the southern most point of Crimson Dreams, perhaps it was as serine as Riunione Beach.
“Oh?” Anu asked as she listened to the woman’s other tour guiding tips. It was interesting information, and if Anu was trying to stick to the more southern parts of the region, and away from Dahilia de Mai it would be good to know.
“Its peaceful here, I’m sure I will be back.” She added, noting that it might be worth a hunting trip. Eyes of sky blue watched as the coyote looked away, obviously reflected upon deep thoughts. Her demeanor seemed spoiled by something, even if it was simply her normal character. But Anu found it hard to believe. Still she did not pry, hoping to be able to get to know the female, even if slowly. She let her eyes fall from the woman’s face, unsure if her staring made her uncomfortable, perhaps she did not like strangers to look at her scars. Anu gathered her response, opening up her own life as to show that she was whiling to take on what the Inferian held.
“Sometimes I just need to escape, though I like to call it scouting or exploring.” Anu admitted with a small bit of humor in her tone. What she needed to run from? Anu could hardly place her finger on it, finding it contorted and complicated. Though there were so much more, and more powerful things that called her home. She still needed to moment to simply breathe, thin as the elevated air might be. It was cold and clean and felt light in her lungs.
