Thanks, and omg fail wait.

The hybrid did not have to walk long before another interaction took place, although this one was far more unexpected than the rabbit. Kaena had failed to take note of a faint wolf tinge on the air, perhaps a wayward slice of the breeze, but as she walked it became quite apparent that there was a wolf very nearby to her. She could smell the other canine clearly, and immediately the silver-furred hybrid ducked low to the ground, her ears sweeping forward to catch the sounds of an approach should the other canine decide it prudent to attack first, ask questions later. That had once been Kaena's policy, certainly, but she was far too old for that kind of childish stunt anymore. She had to pick and choose her battles wisely, lest she end up three-legged or completely blind, or finally vanquished by some enemy far greater than herself.

The moon passed behind a cloud for a moment, and the silver-furred hybrid found her vision dimming, unused to the light. She kept moving until the scent of the wolf slammed her in the face, forcing her to freeze where she was until the moon dipped out from behind the cloud again, shining silvery-blue light over both the canines, face-to-face with several feet between them. Surprise registered on the scarred hybrid's face, but she was quick to conceal it as she observed the other's movements: there seemed to be some small amount of discomfort in the pale-furred female. The silvery hybrid had no idea if it was thanks to her scars or merely the banner of Inferni which she wore so proudly, but she didn't show much of an outward reaction either way, instead regarding the other canine with a sharp and suspicious eye.

"I don't want any trouble," she said rather flatly, resisting the urge to tack a derisive "wolf" onto the end of that. They were somewhat near Inferni's territory, though the silver-furred hybrid knew it was plenty far enough to consider this neutral territory. Still, there was no doubt she'd been identified as one of Inferni's own, and wolves could be quite quick to jump the gun and attack first. Kaena was simply not interested in a fight; this was not one she needed to pick.
