Hahaha. XD It is a real syndrome I sweeeearrr. 528

The ash-furred coyote was a creature of the past. She had been alive a very long time, and there was a wealth of knowledge stored away in her mind—most of it was pure subconscious instinct, simple ways that she had learned to react to the world around her. These tactics had kept her alive a long time, but she could no more impart them onto another canine than she could explain away her personality, her intricacies and hypocrisies tucked away in the many folds of her brain. The silvery coyote was not one to wax philosophical or psychological on any issues; she was unlikely to ever uncover why she acted and reacted inc certain ways. Even now as there was still wariness in her for this pallid white wolf, the coyote female could not shake it, despite the other canine's claims of friendliness. This had kept her safe before; wolves had cost the lives of two of her children, and most of them were unworthy of her trust.

The subject of Naniko had seemed to pique the other canine's interest, which caught the silver-furred hybrid's attention. The ghost-white woman seemed to have quite the liking for the D'Angelo woman, which was something that the pair of canines apparently had in common. The hybrid did not know much of what had caused Naniko's departure from Crimson Dreams, but she had been fortunate enough to stumble across the woman for the first time while she'd been living in Halifax. Perhaps it was the woman's friendliness and the fact that she'd absolutely showered Kaena with gifts—paint, healing salve, cigarettes. The silver-furred woman had departed from the other canine feeling almost as if she owed a debt to the transient wolf, so much had the pallid woman given. "Naniko is one of the few canines who remembers the lands before these. She lived in Clouded Tears when I lived in the Inferni on the other side of the mountain," the hybrid said. "I saw her recently—have you seen her children? They're positively gorgeous," the silvery hybrid said, practically gushing at the thought of the Valley wolf's children. It was the hybrid's greatest soft spot, the one thing which turned her into a simpering pile of goo.

The other canine continued speaking, mentioning another name quite familiar to Kaena—Hybrid Holocaust. Though the pair had lived in Inferni together for a very long time, they were virtual strangers, unfamiliar with each other outside of passing glances and participation in war together. This was changing rapidly, however, and the coyote's summertime excursion to Halcyon Mountain was fresh on her mind, as well as their more recent taunting directed toward Silas. The silver-furred coyote had come across the pair as they were fighting just inside of the border, and upon discovering the Russian wolf was trespassing, she'd been rather quick to send him off, promising him membership only if he brought them blood. From the way Urma spoke of this ghost, Kaena figured he was someone dead—dead and quite close to her. Her ears folded back and she looked at the pallid wolf with clear interest, though it was hardly the focused and intense look of anger Kaena might give. It was mere curiosity; she did not judge Hybrid for his crimes, but she wished to know the extent of them. "What's Hybrid done now?" she inquired, curious to know how her clanmate's actions might have affected this wolf's life, and the life of Naniko in turn.
